Eric Volkin's Portfolio

Erics studio16 gallery (10)

Pastel Expression

Soft pastel is pure pigment in its most direct form, applied by hand with nothing between the artist and the paper. It gives rich, velvety color and a texture that catches the light. Eric builds each piece layer by layer, blending and contrasting to create depth, warmth and vibrancy.

His pastel work explores landscapes, still lifes, portraits, figures, capturing bold color and quiet emotion, the glow of light at different times of day. Each piece is an original, created by hand in Studio 16 at The Mill in Framingham.

Watercolor Purity

Watercolor is a medium of light, movement and surprise. Every stroke carries a little of the unexpected, as water and pigment find their own way across the paper. Eric embraces that balance between control and spontaneity, layering transparent washes to build depth, glow and atmosphere in each piece.

His work explores New England landscapes, coastal scenes, florals, birds, and people, capturing beauty of everyday moments. Each painting is an original, created by hand in Studio 16 at The Mill in Framingham.

Charcoal Expression

Charcoal is one of the oldest and most expressive drawing media, and it’s all about light and shadow. With nothing but black, white and the endless grays between them, Eric shapes form, depth and mood through shading, blending and bold, confident lines.

His charcoal work explores figures, portraits, landscapes, capturing dramatic contrast and quiet intensity, the raw energy of the moment. Each drawing is an original, created by hand in Studio 16 at The Mill in Framingham.
